April has been a joyful and lively time in our schoolhouse. We’ve been spending more of our days outdoors, enjoying the warmth and watching creation come to life around us.

This month, we’ve been focusing on gentleness, reflecting on how the Bible calls us to be kind in both our words and actions. Our verse from Titus 3:2, “slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone,” has guided our days and conversations.

We wrapped up our weather unit in science, exploring temperature, wind, clouds, and even storms like tornadoes and hurricanes. The hands-on experiments were a highlight and sparked so much excitement. In history, we continued through America’s story, learning about the Revolutionary War and the beginnings of our country, while also starting to imagine a classroom constitution for next year.

Our days have also been full of creativity. We worked together to make a bird bath for our outdoor space and spent time connecting art and music by creating instruments like egg shakers, tambourines, and simple xylophones to enjoy at the schoolhouse.
