We are embracing spring with all its new life and promise of things to come. The students have been busy putting together the little greenhouses, sowing seeds indoors, and planting onions, peas, and snap peas in their raised bed gardens.
The boys took the lead on the building process, but the girls were all very happy to hand them the necessary pieces.
We have been enjoying the sunny days together when kite-flying, games of tag and whiffle ball, or swinging and running outside together are able to be enjoyed without a thick coat.
Last week’s rainy day classroom activities included creating a model of our solar system using balloons, painting a watercolor of a starry night sky, making a model of vocal cords, feeding grass to the cows (Clover and Molly) lots of puddle jumping, playing board games, and learning how to play two Early American schoolhouse games: Push the Potato and Jacks.
